Fans were left stunned to see a WWE veteran return at Halloween Havoc.
A night filled with surprises and action, Halloween Havoc turned out to be one of the most entertaining PLEs in a long time. With several successful title bouts, new champions, and shocking appearances, the event catered to every fan’s needs.
While Zaria and Bully Ray made surprising ringside appearances at the show, fans were left awestruck to see veteran William Regal appear during the early stages of the show. As announced previously, Lexis King will face Charlie Dempsey for the Heritage Cup on the October 29th episode.
Previously asked by general manager Ava Raine to find someone in his corner, King remained unsuccessful. At the recent Halloween Havoc PLE, King was questioned about his search and he opened up about his struggles to find someone. However, soon enough, all his troubles vanished when Regal showed up in his corner.
The former NXT general manager shared his relationship with Lexis King’s father ‘Brian Pillman’, and how the apple did not fall from the tree, especially with second-generation wrestlers (a visible shot at his son).
Regal appreciated King’s efforts to be his own man and promised to be in his corner on the 29th October episode.
King will face Dempsey, who happens to be Regal’s real-life son. Regal returned to the brand in January 2023 as the Vice President of Global Talent Development and shared a chance encounter with his son back on March 5, 2024.
The two then shook hands to close the segment. The shocking announcement of siding with King over his son left fans wondering about the next stages of the story.
