Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins may not be the only two stars to receive some new hardware from WWE.
WWE took to Twitter to promote a “WWE Women’s Championship Presentation” for tonight’s episode of “WWE SmackDown” with Asuka as the new holder of the belt. A new report from Fightful Select makes clear that calling it the “WWE Women’s Championship” “wasn’t an accident” on the company’s part and that all should make more sense after tonight’s episode.

According to the report, the source has stated that discussions have been going on for quite some time as to how WWE can simplify the designations of championships by not having them tied to their respective brands. This would make sense considering the title Asuka, a SmackDown superstar, holds is currently the Raw Women’s Title.
New WWE Titles Across The Board?
The effort to make significant changes to WWE’s gold reportedly came following Ronda Rousey stating that she’d rather compete in the tag division over being a singles competitor. Although a completely new title was introduced for the men’s division on “Raw,” Roman Reigns doesn’t look like he’ll have to lug two championships around following last Friday’s “SmackDown” as he was presented with a new single belt design after surpassing 1,000 days as champion. The new title is a much sleeker version of the WWE Championship while the new World Heavyweight Title heavily resembles WCW’s “Big Gold” version, only with a large WWE logo placed in the center of the strap.
Also slated for tonight’s “SmackDown” is Jey Uso having to make a big decision between The Bloodline and his brother Jimmy and four more women aim to qualify for Money In The Bank as Bayley battles Michin and Shotzi squares of against Iyo Sky.
