WWE have announced a new documentary titled “WWE Untold: Goldberg’s Streak,” will premiere on December 13th on the WWE Network.
The latest episode in the WWE Untold series will look in depth at Goldberg’s initial run in WCW. From his debut in September 1997 until the infamous moment when Kevin Nash broke the streak at Starrcade 1998.
While Goldberg’s streak officially stands at 173-0, it has been widely reported that the figure was inflated, and that the true number of victories in the streak is unknown.
The trailer for the new documentary features the likes of Eric Bischoff, Hulk Hogan, Kevin Nash and DDP. The streak was must-see television through 1997 and 98, with Goldberg commenting in the clip below,
“It was organic, and everyone of you will be lying if you said you didn’t want to see it”
Following WWE’s purchase of WCW in 2001, Goldberg was one of a number of Superstars who missed the Invasion angle which followed, with the hall of famer not appearing on WWE TV until the night after Wrestlemania 19 in March 2003. He departed the company in somewhat disappointing circumstances at Wrestlemania 20 defeating Brock Lesnar in the process. Something he discussed at length during a series of live shows with Inside The Ropes.
Since returning to the WWE in 2016 Goldberg has appeared sporadically for the company, winning the Universal Championship on two occasions. He has spoken openly about his current WWE contract requiring him to compete twice a year, and he was last seen in the ThunderDome of Roman Reigns’ clash with Braun Strowman back in October.
WWE Untold: Goldberg’s Streak premieres on the 13th December exclusively on the WWE Network.
