With WrestleMania looming ever larger WWE has made some changes to the card for their spectacular event on Friday Night SmackDown.
On Friday’s show, the top contenders to Queen Zelina and Carmella’s WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship were in action. Sasha Banks teamed with Naomi to face Liv Morgan and Rhea Ripley with the champions watching on.
The action came to an abrupt halt when Natalya and Shayna Baszler attacked both teams, leaving them laying and signalling their intent to be in the hunt for gold. Their hopes were soon answered by Sonya Deville as she officially announced Baszler and Natalya would join the Women’s Tag Team Championship match at WrestleMania 38, turning it into a Fatal Four-Way.
Also on SmackDown, former Intercontinental Champion Sami Zayn challenged Johnny Knoxville to make their match at Wrestlemania “Anything Goes.” With Knoxville’s history of pranks on Jackass, that stipulation could well come back to bite Zayn.
SmackDown ended with WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair confronting her WrestleMania challenger Ronda Rousey once again. Flair used a kendo stick on Rousey before planting The Baddest Woman On The Planet through the announce table at ringside.
Both the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship match and Sami Zayn taking on Johnny Knoxville will take place on night 2 of WrestleMania 38.
