According to Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE had the opportunity to sign recent AEW recruit, Jade Cargill, but passed on the opportunity.
In the latest edition of The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Meltzer reported that Cargill had a tryout with the promotion in 2019, alongside Titan Games star Emily Andzulis, but was not offered a contract.
Though it is unknown why WWE passed on the imposing female, many believe that it’s AEW’s gain as the company snapped her up on a full time contract following her impactful debut on Wednesday’s edition of Dynamite.
Jade Cargill comes from a sporting background. Being said to be dating former MLB Superstar Brandon Phillips, Cargill was trained by both QT Marshall at the Nightmare Factory as well as Richard Borger and Heath Slater at the Face 2 Face Wrestling School.
Cargill made her first appearance for All Elite Wrestling in a confrontation with both Cody and Brandi Rhodes this past Wednesday. Used as the mouthpiece for NBL legend Shaq, who challenged the former AEW TNT Champion on behalf of the colossus, she then began a storyline with Brandi as the women came face-to-face.
This isn’t her first time in front of the camera, however. Cargill was a model before she decided to lace up a pair boots.
