World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) taped matches on November 11, 2022 for their upcoming WWE Tribute to the Troops event. The bouts took place after WWE Friday Night SmackDown went off the air at Indianapolis, Indiana’s Gainbridge Fieldhouse.
The 2022 edition of WWE‘s Tribute to the Troops is billed as the event’s 20th anniversary.
WARNING: WWE Tribute To The Troops Spoilers After This Point
Courtesy of PWInsider, the full results of WWE Tribute to the Troops 2022 are:
- Drew McIntyre & Sheamus & Ricochet def. Imperium (Gunther, Ludwig Kaiser & Giovanni Vinci)
- Ronda Rousey & Shayna Baszler def. Tamina & Emma
- Braun Strowman def. LA Knight
It is currently unknown when World Wrestling Entertainment will broadcast their Tribute to the Troops special. On last week’s WWE Friday Night SmackDown, Michael Cole and Wade Barrett mentioned that it would be airing next month a week before Christmas on Fox.
Also on the most recent episode of WWE Friday Night SmackDown, the company would show a video paying respect to Veterans Day.
Making its debut in 2003, the very first Tribute to the Troops took place at Camp Victory in Baghdad, Iraq. Before ultimately being moved to the United States in 2010, WWE held its first seven Tribute to the Troops events overseas.
World Wrestling Entertainment will, of course, have its weekly WWE Monday Night Raw and WWE Friday Night SmackDown shows, but their next major event will be at the end of this month with their Survivor Series: War Games Premium Live Event — the PLE will air on Peacock Saturday, November 26, 2022. The show will include two War Games matches, and will be the first time in main roster history that the War Games gimmick has been used in a Premium Live Event.
Currently, there is minimal information known about the card for Survivor Series, however, this past Friday’s SmackDown did give us confirmation of one match — Ronda Rousey vs. Shotzi for the WWE Women’s SmackDown Championship.
