WWE Championship Match Announced For Elimination Chamber

Bobby Lashley - Elimination Chamber

WWE have announced that WWE Champion Bobby Lashley will defend his newly won title at Elimination Chamber.

While Bobby Lashley might be less than a week into his second WWE Championship reign, the All-Mighty already has his back firmly against the wall. Or in this case, chain-linked structure.

It has been confirmed that Bobby Lashley will defend his prized WWE Title inside the Elimination Chamber on February 19th in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. At time of writing there is no news on who Lashley will be facing inside one of the most unforgiving structures that WWE have ever created.

The Elimination Chamber is made up of six competitors, with two beginning the match inside the ring, while four others take up position in enclosed pods. Every five minutes, one of these pods will open, allowing another Superstar to enter the match. This continues until all of the pods are empty. Superstars can be eliminated from the match via pin-fall or submission. The last Superstar remaining is the winner, and this case, the WWE Champion.

Bobby Lashley won the WWE Championship at the Royal Rumble overcoming Brock Lesnar in a highly anticipated match-up. However, the win wasn’t without controversy, even if Lashley was something of an innocent by-stander.

After a sensationally hard-hitting contest, Lesnar appeared to be heading to victory as he delivered an F-5 to the challenger, but things quickly fell apart. In the process of hitting the move, Lesnar took out the referee. This allowed Roman Reigns to run to the ring and hit Lesnar with a Spear, although the bigger story was yet to come.

The situation swiftly went from bad to worse for Lesnar, as Heyman turned his back on client, handing Reigns the WWE Championship belt to use as a weapon, which he duly did. As the reconciled Tribal Chief and Special Counsel headed up the ramp, Lashley pinned his rival to claim a stunning win.
