WWE Teases Debut Of Brian Pillman Jr

Brian Pillman Jr. Leaves AEW

The first vignette for Brian Pillman Jr. was shown on NXT.

On the September 26th episode of NXT, WWE teased the arrival of second-generation star Brian Pillman Jr.

In the clip, a mystery figure was shown watching an old television and skipping through the channels. The first channel showed “Eyewitness News at 7” before footage was shown of the Cincinnati Bengals. A voice can be heard mentioning the “Cincinnati Bengals training camp,” before the channel changes.

This time footage of WCW is shown with Jim Ross welcoming everyone to “WCW Saturday Night,” before the screen goes black.

All of the clips are references to Brian Pillman — Pillman Jr.’s father.

The tease comes just hours after WWE announced the signing of former AEW star Jade Cargill. There is no word on when the former TBS Champion will make her debut on television.

When Did Brian Pillman Jr. Leave AEW?

Brian Pillman Jr. left AEW after his contract expired in July 2023. The star had joined the company in 2019 but found television time difficult to come by in recent months.

Following his departure from AEW, it was reported that a deal was in place to join WWE, and by August it was claimed he’d put pen to paper. However, there had been no official comment from Pillman or WWE.

Pillman Jr.’s father Brian Pillman famously signed with WWE in 1996 after leaving WCW in highly controversial circumstances. The star was working for the company at the time of his untimely passing on October 5th, 1997.
