Is The Undertaker coming to NXT?

On October 6th it was reported that the WWE Hall of Famer will be in Orlando, Florida during the coming week. Interestingly, this means that he’ll be there for the increasingly stacked NXT taping on October 10th.

While the report noted that ‘Taker has worked at the Performance Center before and there was no guarantee he would appear on television, WWE has hinted that there could be more to it.

During SmackDown, a commercial for the show aired and ended with The Undertaker’s signature gong.

The October 10th episode of NXT has taken on extra significance after AEW Dynamite was moved from its usual timeslot due to the MLB Playoffs. This means the two shows will now go head-to-head. In response, WWE has loaded NXT, confirming that John Cena, Paul Heyman, Cody Rhodes, and Asuka will all be involved.

This is on top of Becky Lynch being the NXT Women’s Champion.

Speculation around who will ‘win’ on the night has gone into overdrive online, with Eric Bischoff predicting a “bloodbath.”

When Did The Undertaker Last Appear For WWE?

The Deadman has remained largely away from WWE television after confirming his retirement at Survivor Series 2020. His most recent appearance came on the special 30th anniversary episode of Raw in January 2023 where he featured in a segment with Bray Wyatt and LA Knight.

Since hanging up his famous black hat, The Undertaker has made occasional appearances at the Performance Center, and confirmed in March he’d been offered a coaching role.
