World Wrestling Entertainment has began to tease a return to the ring for ‘The Game’ Triple H following his recent appearance on Monday Night Raw.
Subsequent to his main event brawl with Randy Orton on the January 11 edition of the red brand, the company provided their fanbase with a poll which inquired whether or not they would like to see the former WWE Champion battle ‘The Viper’ one more time.
The poll, as of Tuesday January 12, sat at 77% of people in favour of yet another match between the two while 23% voted no. It’s unclear whether or not WWE will use this to either change plans for WrestleMania 37 or build something between the two men for a later date.
Randy Orton and Triple H have a long and storied history which began as members of Evolution before ‘The Cerebral Assassin’ turned on his protégé the night after SummerSlam 2004 when ‘The Legend Killer’ pinned Chris Benoit to capture the World Heavyweight Championship.
The storyline would branch through decades as the pair collided countless times at the Royal Rumble (2005), WrestleMania 25 (2009), The Bash (2009), and for the last time in an official bout at WWE Super Showdown on June 7, 2019, in Saudi Arabia to name just a few of their legendary clashes.
Their coming together on January 11 played into the ongoing storyline between Randy Orton and ‘The Fiend’ Bray Wyatt which many thought had concluded with the burning of the entity at WWE Tables, Ladders and Chairs 2020. At the conclusion of the brawl, Orton was confronted by Alexa Bliss who threw a fireball into his face.
