WWE Tease Cody Rhodes Return During Raw

Cody Rhodes

Diddy couldn’t have possibly been referring to Cody Rhodes when he brought out his hit 2001 album but as far Rhodes goes, the saga most definitely continued on Raw.

The will he/won’t he of Cody Rhodes going to WWE after he and his wife Brandi announced their exits from All Elite Wrestling has rumbled on for weeks and weeks.

What once looked like a certainty that Rhodes would return to the company where he previously spent almost a decade has been thrown into doubt recently but WWE has not been shy about teasing The American Nightmare coming to the company.

Once again on Raw, a couple of nods to Rhodes were made, particularly in the main event match between Kevin Owens and Seth “Freaking” Rollins. Rollins challenged Owens to the bout where the winner gets the privilege of hosting Stone Cold Steve Austin at WrestleMania.

Kevin Owens won the match cementing his place on The Grandest Stage Of Them All and probably a Stone Cold Stunner to boot whereas Rollins looks like he is to be left out in the cold when WrestleMania rolls into Dallas.

On commentary, Corey Graves referred to Rollins’ WrestleMania hopes as being “dashed” and said that Rollins’ “dream had become a nightmare.” Both remarks are seemingly a hint towards nicknames used by Rhodes.

The latest report by Dave Meltzer suggests that Seth Rollins vs. Cody Rhodes is still the plan for WrestleMania and says that Rhodes could even wait to re-debut for WWE at WrestleMania 38 itself.
