WWE Superstar Didn’t Realise He’d Been Moved To SmackDown

A new report has revealed that a WWE Superstar who was moved to SmackDown earlier in the year had no idea the switch had taken place until being informed by fellow Superstars.

Back in April it was reported by POST Wrestling, that Shane Thorne, who had been performing as Slapjack had been moved to SmackDown. Thorne had been performing as a member of RETRIBUTION prior to the group splitting at Fastlane. While T-Bar and Mace remained on RAW, Mia Yim (Reckoning) and Thorne were apparently moved to the blue brand.

However, according to a new report from Fightful Select, the move took place without Thorne’s knowledge.

“Fightful learned that the move was done even without his knowledge, and he started to appear on the internal roster sheets and depth charts, where wrestlers then informed him.”

Shane Thorne hasn’t wrestled on TV since appearing in the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal on WrestleMania Smackdown on April 9th.

The Aussie Superstar hasn’t appeared on WWE television at all since WrestleMania, but is still listed internally under his Slapjack gimmick.

While Thorne has been away from TV, he has performed in two dark matches at recent SmackDown tapings. First, in defeat to NXT Champion Karrion Kross in June, then as part of a Battle Royal on July 16th.

Perhaps interestingly, Mia Yim who was also moved to SmackDown is also yet to appear. Yim was reportedly set to debut on two separate occasions but never made it to TV. The former RETRIBUTION member hasn’t wrestled inside a WWE ring since December 2020, where she was defeated by Nikki Cross.
