WWE SummerSlam 2021 Preview

WWE SummerSlam John Cena Roman Reigns

Here’s everything you need to know ahead of The Biggest Party Of The Summer with our WWE SummerSlam preview!

WWE SummerSlam emanates from the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada in what will be the biggest show the company has put on since the beginning of the pandemic.

The 34th annual summer spectacular from WWE will see seven titles on the line and some scores get settled in what is sure to be a hot night of in-ring action.

Randy Orton is going to have to prove he can get along with Riddle after the two men seemingly put their differences aside on Raw. RK-Bro will have their hands full as they challenge for the Raw Tag Team Championship against The Phenomenal AJ Styles and the giant Omos.

The twisted Alexa Bliss alongside her demon doll Lilly will no doubt have trouble on their mind as they look to quell the ‘Eva-lution.’ Bliss will go one-on-one with Eva Marie who will no doubt have her protégé Doudrop close to hand.

Old teammates turned bitter rivals Drew McIntyre and Jinder Mahal also look to squash their beef at WWE SummerSlam. Mahal’s running buddies Veer and Shanky are banned from ringside leaving McIntyre and Mahal to go at it in what has become an increasingly personal feud.

Gold will be the motivator for Damian Priest as he challenges Sheamus for the WWE United States Championship. Sheamus has held the title since WrestleMania 37, the same event that Priest put the world on notice in his impressive tag team display with rap superstar Bad Bunny.

Goldberg looks to turn back the clock after he made his shocking return to WWE recently on Raw. The WWE Hall Of Famer wasted no time in getting in the face of Bobby Lashley, telling the WWE Champion that he was next.

Rounding out the Raw side of the card Nikki A.S.H will put her Raw Women’s Championship on the line in a triple threat match against Rhea Ripley and Charlotte Flair. Flair won the title from Ripley at Money In The Bank but the very next night on Raw she was uncrowned by Miss Money In The Bank and almost-a-superhero Nikki A.S.H.

On the SmackDown side of things, Jimmy and Jey Uso look to keep their cousin Roman Reigns happy by retaining their SmackDown Tag Team Title. They will have their hands full however in what is a family affair as they are challenged by Rey and Dominik Mysterio.

Edge competes in his first SummerSlam bout since 2010 when he was part of the seven-man WWE team that faced the Nexus. The Rated-R Superstar will go one on one with the man that cost him the Universal Championship at Money In The Bank and the man that looked to finish him off once and for all in 2014, Seth Rollins.

The SmackDown Women’s Championship is also due to be defended in what will be a rematch from WrestleMania 37. Sasha Banks is the challenger on this occasion, targeting the champion and the woman that defeated Banks for the belt, Bianca Belair.

In the night’s presumed main event John Cena looks to write his name into the history books as a seventeen-time champion of the world as he challenges Roman Reigns for the WWE Universal Championship. The two men have traded increasingly vicious barbs on the microphone in recent weeks and the crowd in Las Vegas will no doubt be looking forward to seeing Cena in action for the first time since WrestleMania 36.
