At long last, WWE Raw has an official home for the final quarter of 2024.
WWE programming is set for major changes in late 2024. Not only is SmackDown leaving FOX and returning to the USA Network in October, NXT will be leaving USA and finding a new home as part of the CW Network.
Meanwhile, WWE announced a massive new deal for Raw to begin airing on Netflix in January of 2025. The multi-billion dollar deal was massive news for the company, but as Raw’s media rights deal with NBCU was set to expire in October of 2024, it also left the red brand without a home for the year’s final quarter. In a February SEC filing, uncertainty surrounding WWE Raw was listed as a risk factor for TKO.
Where Will WWE Raw Air In Late 2024?
At long last, a new TKO SEC filing reveals that the company has struck a new deal with NBCU to keep WWE Raw on USA for the remainder of 2024. As reported by Brandon Thurston of Wrestlenomics, a portion of the filing reads:
WWE entered into a long-term media rights agreement with Netflix for Raw beginning in January of 2025; subsequently, WWE entered into a $25 million domestic media rights agreement with NBCUniversal for Raw to remain on USA Network for the fourth quarter of 2024.
Thurston later points out that NBCU got a good deal on the agreement, writing:
Seems like a bargain for NBCU. WWE’s current deal with NBCU for Raw is/was worth an average of $265M per year. A quarter of that would be $66M.
