A new report claims that WWE is looking to induct The Steiner Brothers into the WWE Hall Of Fame in 2022 joining Sid, Vader, and The Undertaker.
Rick Steiner was the first of the two Steiner brothers to make his name in the wrestling world as part of The Varsity Club in Jim Crockett Promotions and WCW. In the late eighties, Rick was joined by Scott and the duo formed a formidable tag team.
Together the Steiner brothers held the WCW Tag Team Championship on 7 occasions, as well as the IWGP Tag Team Title in New Japan Pro Wrestling twice, and are two-time WWF Tag Team Champions as well.
Now Dave Meltzer speaking on Sunday Night’s Main Event says that WWE is looking at inducting The Steiner Brothers into the WWE Hall Of Fame, but will settle for just Rick if needs be:
“I’ve heard Rick Steiner or The Steiner Brothers, depending on Scott. I think if Scott is not willing, they’ll go with Rick. But they want The Steiner Brothers so that’s a name that’s floating around. Sid is the other name that’s floating around.”
Scott Steiner has been outspoken about WWE in recent years, launching verbal tirades against the likes of Triple H and repeatedly saying that he’d refuse a Hall Of Fame induction if offered.
Scott’s nephew and Rick’s son Bron Breakker is currently a big star in WWE, having burst onto the scene in NXT 2.0 and quickly becoming NXT Champion before losing the title to Dolph Ziggler.
Should Rick Steiner or both Steiner Brothers enter the WWE Hall Of Fame in 2022 they will join the likes of former world champions Vader and The Undertaker as well as Queen Sharmell.
