WWE Release Statement After Fan Assaults Seth Rollins On Raw

Seth Rollins in the ring

WWE have addressed an incident during Raw which saw Seth Rollins attacked by a fan who seemingly jumped the guardrail.

On the latest edition of Monday Night Raw, Seth Rollins was assaulted by a fan on the entrance ramp. Rollins had just beat down Finn Balor in the ring, causing a match between the two to be called off, and was exiting the arena via the ramp when the attack occurred.

The confrontation was briefly caught on television before the camera quickly cut away. However, it was confirmed by those in attendance that the fan jumped the rail and tackled Rollins before security intervened. The attacker was then dragged away to loud “A**hole” chants.

Additional footage later emerged showing the individual being escorted out of Barclays Center by security:

Following the incident, WWE released a statement that the individual had been handed over to the New York Police Department and would be prosecuted for the assault.

“WWE takes the safety of its performers very seriously. The individual who attacked Seth Rollins has been turned over to the NYPD and will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.”

In the ring, Seth Rollins came out to celebrate his win in the Survivor Series battle for brand supremacy. Rollins was the sole survivor for Team Raw seeing off Jeff Hardy to claim the win, something Rollins was keen to remind the world on Raw.

After running down his accomplishments from the night before, some harsh words for Finn Balor brought The Prince to the ring. But Rollins quickly attacked the Irishman, and although Balor managed to get some offence in, he was soon overpowered.

Rollins nailed Balor with the ring steps before hitting a Curb Stomp, before returning to the ring to deliver a second to leave Balor laying.
