Numerous WWE stars are said to be unhappy with their entrance themes produced by music group Def Rebel.
With entrance music being a key part of a wrestler’s presentation, a memorable theme is vital to signal their arrival, set the tone and achieve the desired crowd response. However, in the modern era, fans are in agreement that the music does not hit the same way.
With 60 songs played throughout both Royal Rumbles, not every entrant with a Def Rebel theme got the pop that they had hoped for and many fans left confused when the music played. While the likes of Roman Reigns, Jey Uso and Seth Rollins all received great reactions thanks to their memorable introductions, the same could not be said for the likes of Finn Balor, Santos Escobar and Pure Fusion Collective. According to a new report, there are many who share the same frustrations.
As reported by Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select, a number of talents have pointed out their frustrations over the generic themes. It is also reported that “no talent” who Fightful spoke with have interacted with Def Rebel for input on their own songs, adding that several stars have “expressed unhappiness” with the quality of the themes and have “made attempts to get their previous themes back.”
It is also noted that the company have made requests to have some themes change, which the talent in question “vehemently pushed back on.” Unfortunately, not everyone was able to keep their existing themes.
For those wanting to see Def Rebel replaced, Fightful does not know when the agreement is set to end or if it would be renewed.
Legendary WWE Composer Has Not Returned
On a recent episode of Raw, rumours began to swirl that Jim Johnston, the man behind some of the most iconic WWE themes of all time, was back in the company as Netflix subtitles credited him as the writer of Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods’ new theme. However, a follow-up report debunked Jim Johnston returning to WWE.
