WWE Stars Open Up About Missing WrestleMania 41: “Sometimes You’ve Got To Ride The Bench”

WWE Stars Open Up About Missing WrestleMania 41:

Two champions in WWE have spoken out over being left off the WrestleMania card this year.

Although the biggest show on the WWE calendar is now spread over 2 nights, not every champion can be a part of the show. With 11 championships being contested on the main roster, along with non-title feuds all fighting for their spot on the Mania card, multiple champions have been booked on the go-home SmackDown as opposed to the show itself.

One title match that will not take place inside Allegiant Stadium is the Tag Team Champions The Street Profits putting their titles on the line against Motor City Machine Guns, which will instead take place on the April 18th SmackDown, a move that many have objected to.

While appearing on the It Is What It Is podcast, The Street Profits were asked about not being included on the card, to which Montez Ford said the following:

“I think the fans should still be happy. This gives a chance for other WWE superstars who have never been on WrestleMania to showcase themselves. I tell them like, hey man, there’s other WWE superstars that it’s their first time doing this or anything. We’re kicking this weekend off on Friday on SmackDown with our WWE Tag Team Championships on the line in title town. Congrats to everyone that’s involved in WrestleMania this weekend, we’re definitely gonna be there to support.”

Giving his thoughts on the move, Angelo Dawkins admitted that although he wanted to be on the card, The Profits are still looking to put on a show on SmackDown:

“I’d be lying if I said I don’t wanna ride the pine, but sometimes you’ve got to play your role, you’ve got to ride the bench sometimes. Aye, you know what? We on SmackDown, we defending the titles, we gonna do work against Motor City Machine Guns, we’re gonna beat them boys down. We gonna go out there and put on a show.”
