WWE Superstar Jey Uso has given a somewhat surprising pick for the WrestleMania 40 main event.
January 1st saw the long-predicted main event of The Show of Shows thrown into chaos as The Rock made a surprise return and heavily hinted that a future showdown with Roman Reigns would be taking place soon to see who really is The Head of the Table.
While Rock vs. Reigns would be one of the biggest WrestleMania events in recent memory, regular fans have expressed concerns in regard to how this would affect Cody Rhodes, who seemed destined to face Reigns one year on from the defeat in California. Some believe that Rhodes should still finish the story while others believe that The Great One competing in what could be his final match should receive the honour.
Jey Uso is familiar with Reigns having fought alongside and against The Tribal Chief during the lengthy title run. Additionally, Uso is good friends with Rhodes and won the Tag Team Championships alongside The American Nightmare in 2023.
Speaking with Sony Sports Network, the former Tag Team Champion gave his thoughts on The Rock’s challenge to Reigns and admitted that the Hollywood star would have a monumental task ahead of him if the match were to take place:
“My reaction to the Rock wanting to be the Head of the Table? Money. That’s one match I think we all wanna watch. Myself, as a fan, I want to watch too. I just don’t think The Rock knows what he’s getting into when it comes to The Tribal Chief Roman Reigns. He’s got The Bloodline behind him. Rock has a big uphill battle man. But yeah, we ready to see that,”
In contrast to this, an AEW star has admitted that they will not be happy if The Rock is in the WrestleMania main event.
The Rock Hints At Further WWE Involvement
Much like the last 2 appearances on weekly TV, it is unknown when The People’s Champion will next appear in front of fans. However, still thankful that the fans give him the same electric reaction when he does appear, The Great One has posted multiple clips regarding the return and what it means to him to still be a part of the company all these years later. Looking to make a huge impact in 2024, The Rock recently posted an update on social media where he intends to make WWE history in the next year.
H/t to Fightful.
