A current WWE star has revealed that he attempted to convince Doctors to allow him to recreate an iconic Wrestlemania moment during a recent bout.
WWE star Ricochet wanted to emulate Steve Austin’s Wrestlemania 13 image
High flying WWE Smackdown Superstar Ricochet suffered a nasty gash to the top of his head on the December 23rd edition of the Friday night show, leaving him requiring six stitches.
The injury was sustained as he teamed with Braun Strowman to take on Imperium members Ludwig Kaiser & Giovanni Vinci in a Miracle On 34th Street Fight.
But the former WWE Intercontinental Champion has revealed that he was keen to use the injury to re-create a famous bloody image from ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin’s classic Wrestlemania 13 encounter with fellow WWE Hall Of Famer Bret ‘Hitman’ Hart.
Speaking to Alistair McGeorge in Metro he said:
Honestly, because it was bleeding a lot, obviously the doctors are going to come out and check on you. I was trying to actually copy Stone Cold, WrestleMania 13, [nodding vigorously] put it over my head, you know what I mean? They were like, ‘No, we can’t do that.’ Obviously, because they’re the doctors, they’re like, ‘We have got to make sure you’re ok, what are you doing?’ I’m like, ‘Stop wiping the blood,’ and they’re like, ‘No, we can’t, what are you doing?!’ I’m 20 years into my career now, which is pretty crazy. I think after doing it so long, I think you can judge the severity of a situation. Honestly, I think it looked worse than it was because of the blood and everything
Despite the cut, Ricochet revealed that he suffered no long term issues;
Literally, it healed up within days, it was so easy! It was just a freak accident, and it didn’t even hurt. I mean, it hurt, but I didn’t get knocked out and I didn’t see stars
He missed little in ring action and would go on to qualify for the 2023 Royal Rumble with victory over Top Dolla on the 6th January edition of WWE Smackdown.
