A current champion in WWE is thankful for Liv Morgan’s quick thinking which saved them from a potentially very embarrassing moment at one of the biggest shows of the year.
Entering the Royal Rumble match for the first time in her career, Women’s Intercontinental Champion Lyra Valkyria looked to continue her momentum by winning the legendary match in her debut. Unfortunately, shortly after making her way into the ring the ring, Valkyria suffered a wardrobe malfunction and needed to pause to fix her gear.
Although the issue seemed to be resolved, the problem repeated itself moments later. Recognising that the Raw star was in trouble, Morgan quickly got to her feet and punched Valkyria, which allowed the champion to get to the corner and be given time to properly fix the issue.
Asked about the moment on the Battleground podcast, Valkyria noted that while it had never happened before, of course it would happen during the Rumble:
“I’ve never been so happy to be hit in the face. It definitely wasn’t ideal. I’ve never had that happen, ever. Of course it would be in the Royal Rumble. Why not? My biggest show ever. Of course my top would fall off. But it is what it is,
it was completely out of my control, there wasn’t much I could do about it. I just handled it the best way I could. We can’t focus on things like that. Still got to run the ramp, great ramp, as the Women’s Intercontinental Champion. Pretty cool, I’m taking the wins.”
