Wes Lee might be getting an unexpected challenger for the North American Championship as a Raw star has set his sights on the title.
Lee has held the title for over 140 days and has made it clear he is a fighting champion, issuing a series of open challenges for the championship in recent months.
However, he might get more than he bargained for after making a challenge for March 14th, as Raw’s Cedric Alexander has made his interest known.
Taking to social media, the star said he is free on Tuesday nights and hasn’t had a chance at the North American Title before.
“I’m free Tuesday nights…..
I’ve never challenged for the #NXTNorthAmerican Title….
Hey @WesLee_WWE you feeling froggy?
@WWENXT”

In recent years, the only singles gold Alexander has held has been the 24/7 Championship, which he held three times for very brief periods. Before then, he spent a short period in NXT before becoming a staple of the Cruiserweight division on 205 Live
There, he held the WWE Cruiserweight Championship for over 180 days during 2018 and saw off challenges from the likes of KENTA, Drew Gulak, Kallisto, and Buddy Murphy.
After moving to the main roster full-time during the 2019 Superstar Shakeup, Alexander found himself on the losing end of rivalries with the likes of Drew McIntyre and AJ Styles.
His fortunes changed when, after some reluctance, he joined the Hurt Business alongside MVP, Bobby Lashley, and Shelton Benjamin. He and Benjamin captured the Raw Tag Team Championships late in 2020.
WWE teasing a reunion of The Hurt Business
The Hurt Business went their separate ways 2021, with a brief reunion in 2022. In recent months WWE has been teasing a bigger reunion of the group, with MVP taking credit for Benjamin and Alexander recently teaming together as well as getting on better terms with Lashley.
It has also been reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that the team could get a new member in the form of NXT star Carmelo Hayes.
“Speaking of Hayes, it has been batted around the idea of Hayes in the Hurt Business with MVP, Benjamin, Alexander and Lashley. That was a discussion and not definite.”
