A top WWE star was said to be “screaming and cursing” after his elimination from the Royal Rumble match.
Drew McIntyre entered the men’s Royal Rumble match at Number 17 and lasted for almost 30 minutes before being eliminated by Damian Priest as he tried to throw Jey Uso over the top rope. Now, PWInsider has reported that something went wrong with the elimination, leading to The Scottish Warrior storming to the back and “screaming and cursing” that “someone had to get their moves in,” He is then said to have “loudly stormed out” of the stadium before the end of the event.
On Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer provided more information on the incident, reporting that McIntyre wasn’t the only star frustrated with the match and claiming that one talent in particular was “trying to get himself over” rather than the match itself.
“There’s a guy that a lot of people were p**sed at in that match, with the idea that he was trying to get himself over and not the match over, and he was doing things.
“I don’t wanna mention his name, it’ll probably come out tomorrow, because it’s only one person telling me the name, but it’s multiple people telling me that the Drew thing… he wasn’t happy. It’s not an angle. If they end up doing an angle with the person later – which there’s no hints of anything.
“But I heard that Drew was not the only one unhappy about the situation.”
