Injury risks have stopped this WWE star from performing this move.
Pro wrestling is often filled with injuries, and stars often fall victim to such mishaps. Over the years, multiple wrestlers had to retire due to injuries suffered during their matches. Recently returned from a hiatus and career-threatening double neck fusion surgery, WWE tag-team champion Ivar has opened up on a recent change in his wrestling moveset.
Despite his size, Ivar is known for his high-flying and risk-taking abilities. Unfortunately, his recent surgery has compelled him to bring in a slight change in his wrestling style. During his recent appearance on Insight with Chris Van Vliet, Ivar opened up on the one move he had to eliminate due to its high injury risk.
I’ve had to rethink about how I work in the ring. It’s natural to know how to edit things, and to make it seem like I’m not editing things. I’m still giving the crowd what they want to see without doing the suicide dive. That’s the only move I’ve cut from everything, ’cause that’s what caused the initial neck injury.

On the September 7, 2020, episode of Raw, Ivar performed a suicide dive to the ringside but went headfirst into members of the Hurt Business, and someone’s hand inadvertently pushed his head back. Immediately following the scare, fans found Ivar limp on the ringside mat. The star underwent surgery after that and was sidelined for seven months.
Earlier this year, he complained about suffering from arm numbness and again underwent surgery. Recovered and back in action, Ivar and Erik recently defeated Finn Balor and JD McDonagh to win the tag-team championship.
