Change is coming to WWE’s women’s division. Following the news that Sasha Banks is done with the company and heading to New Japan Pro Wrestling, it has been reported that creative are preparing for Charlotte Flair’s return to the ring.
Meanwhile, Alexa Bliss dropped the clearest hint yet that she could be linking back up with Bray Wyatt on the December 12th edition of Monday Night Raw. After becoming the number one contender for the Raw Women’s Title Bliss set Bianca Belair up for the Sister Abigail before walking away.
Interestingly her former tag team partner Asuka could also be heading for a transformation of her own.
What Next For WWE Star Asuka?
In recent weeks Asuka has teased on social media that change could be on the way. The star has been on a run of defeats in the ring and appears close to breaking point. On Raw the Japanese star wrestled without her trademark face paint for the first time in WWE, and played up to the crowd much less than usual.
In the ring the star was defeated once again, this time by Rhea Ripley, with commentary calling attention to her recent poor run of results. For a number of days Asuka has hinted on social media that she could be returning to her evil Kana character, posting several pictures of herself as the murder clown.
To add further intrigue in the hours after Raw the star was active on social media once again. This time writing that “I’ll be on a trip for a while,” before repeating the message with emojis for a worm, cockroach and mosquito before the word “trip.” Her most recent tweet is a clip of her from Raw without her face paint.
While these posts could obviously be further teases for a return to her Kana persona, some fans have wondered whether it could mean a break from WWE or wrestling altogether. This has been fuelled by the news that Karl Anderson will be working with NJPW while signed to WWE, and even competing at Wrestle Kingdom in January 2023.
Bobby Lashley also looks to be taking a break from WWE after he was fired on Raw.
