WWE Star Speaks Out On Being “Robbed” Of WrestleMania Match

Original WWE WrestleMania 41 Plans Seemingly Leaked

Chad Gable’s quest for a singles match at WrestleMania continues, and this year, he says he was passed over once again.

Despite being a WWE mainstay since 2014, Gable was left off the singles card at WrestleMania 41, while the mysterious masked luchador El Grande Americano, widely known by fans to be Gable himself, was given a featured match. Gable spoke to Ropebreaks and said:

“I got robbed again, man. This year, by this new guy, comes out of nowhere. Two matches and he’s on WrestleMania. Can you imagine how I feel? Twelve years in. I wish him the best of luck, I like that guy.”

In storyline, Gable continues to deny any connection to El Grande Americano, who debuted shortly before WrestleMania and was quickly inserted into a feud with Rey Mysterio and the LWO. Though initially scheduled to face Mysterio at the event, El Grande Americano instead wrestled Rey Fenix due to a last-minute injury to Mysterio.

The situation added to Gable’s frustration, as he and his faction, American Made (Julius and Brutus Creed), had been heavily involved in a rivalry with Mysterio, Dragon Lee, and the rest of the LWO in the lead-up to the event.

As of now, the true identity of El Grande Americano remains “officially” unconfirmed in WWE storylines.

Which WWE Hall Of Famer Believes Chad Gable Could Be A World Champion One Day?

WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle spoke about how he believes Chad Gable could hold one of the company’s top titles in the future. Angle praised Gable’s in-ring abilities and credited Gable with making him look good during the match they had on the lead-up to Angle’s retirement in 2019. Angle said that despite Gable’s smaller size, he is very marketable and has what it takes to become a world champion one day.
