A former WWE Superstar has hit out at Vince McMahon, describing him as a “shell” of the man he used to be.
EC3 initially worked with WWE in the early 2010’s before being released from his contract in 2013. However, he returned in 2018 after a highly successful spell with IMPACT Wrestling.
Upon his return, the star featured heavily in NXT before moving to the main roster a year later. Despite there being high hopes for the former TNA World Heavyweight Champion when he re-joined WWE, on Raw he was quickly relegated into comedic roles, featuring in the 24/7 Title picture.
EC3 was released in April 2020 as part of cost cutting measures relating to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Appearing on “LI #1 Pro Wrestling Broadcast,” with Monty & Pharaoh, the former WWE Superstar reflected on his time with the company and more specifically his relationship with Vince McMahon. While discussing his former boss, the star said he was a “feeble old man” and never really had a relationship with him.
“There wasn’t one, really,” EC3 said. “Talked to him a couple of times. I would say the man I wanted him to be and expected him to be, the leader that I heard he was from the past, I did not see. I saw more of a shell of that, sort of a feeble old man, as opposed to the leader that you’d wanna run through a wall for.”
EC3 was more charitable with his comments on Triple H, who he worked under in NXT, praising his leadership skills.
Vince McMahon is currently under investigation following claims that he paid multiple women a total of more than $12 million over the course of 16 years in “hush money.” As a result, McMahon stepped down as CEO and Chairman of the Board. Although he has retained creative control.
