Since making his debut in 2002 Brock Lesnar has been one of the most dominant WWE Superstars that the company has ever seen. However, despite his fearsome reputation in the ring, one current star has claimed that a clash with The Beast would be a dream match.
While Lesnar has been standing tall over the WWE landscape on and off for two decades, another formidable force has begun to make a name for themselves in recent months.
Gunther Gunning For Dream Match With Brock Lesnar
Following a record breaking run as United Kingdom Champion, Gunther, formerly WALTER, had a short spell in NXT before arriving on Friday Night SmackDown on April 8th 2022. On night one the giant Austrian demolished a local talent, going on to snatch up the Intercontinental Championship just weeks later. Since making his debut on the blue brand, Gunther is yet to be defeated in singles action and appears to be a near-unstoppable force.
This run has left fans dreaming of matches between Gunther and a whole host of Superstars including Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns. However, speaking in a new interview with WMBD News the man himself revealed he has his sights set on a meeting with Brock Lesnar.
“If I had to pin it down to one name, I’d say it’s Brock Lesnar at the moment. When I was young and watching WWE, I enjoyed watching his matches. Later on when I progressed in my career, I was able to watch wrestling and analyze how people work. He’s always been somebody I was impressed with. He’s one of the best to ever do it. I think that’s the biggest possible challenge for me at the moment.”
Gunther is coming off the back of a dominant victory over Rey Mysterio on SmackDown where he retained his Intercontinental Championship. Meanwhile, Brock Lesnar is riding high after overcoming Bobby Lashley at WWE Crown Jewel, although it remains unclear when the star will wrestle again.
