One of the highlights of the entire year for the many wrestling fans is the WWE Royal Rumble.
Not only do the Rumble matches help set up matches for WrestleMania, they are often full of special surprises. Whether that’s stars returning from injury, or legends stepping into the ring one more time.
Candice Michelle Ready For WWE Royal Rumble Appearance
In 2004, Candice Michelle auditioned for WWE’s Raw Diva Search and despite being unsuccessful signed a contract with the company. The star went on to become a regular fixture on WWE television until 2008. After an injury-hit spell Michelle was released by WWE in June 2009. During her WWE career the former Women’s Champion wrestled the likes of Beth Phoenix, Melina, Trish Stratus and more.
Speaking in a new interview with DS Shin of Ring The Belle, Candice Michelle has now revealed that she’s ready to follow their lead and appear in the Royal Rumble. She also discussed being advertised to appear on Raw in 2021 despite not being asked by the company.
“I get this question all the time. I’m so down for it. Even one year, they promoted that I was going to be there and people were like, ‘Why didn’t you show up?’ I was like, ‘The truth is they just never called me.’ They have certain amount of people they gotta have, a certain look, group, and all that stuff. I just haven’t made the list yet. So I’m hoping this year; it’s in Texas. I live in Texas. It’s a good year to go back, I’m just saying. I’m ready. I hope it happens, but we’ll see what they do,”
The 2023 Royal Rumble is set to take place on January 28th in San Antonio, Texas. At time of writing two matches outside of the Rumble matches themselves have been announced. Roman Reigns will defend his Undisputed WWE Universal Title against Kevin Owens while Bray Wyatt meets LA Knight in the first-ever Pitch Black Match.
