WWE Star Roman Reigns’ Upcoming Hollywood Role Confirmed

Why Roman Reigns Is Remaining Silent On Major WWE Match

WWE Superstar Roman Reigns has landed another Hollywood opportunity.

Last seen on the RAW after WrestleMania 41, Roman Reigns has been absent from televised appearances for several months now. While reportedly very close to a comeback, recently, several plans emerged about Roman Reigns’ upcoming return.

However, while his absence from WWE television continues, Reigns’ upcoming role in a Hollywood film has officially been confirmed. Previously reported by Deadline and Fightful to star in the Street Fighter movie adaptation with well-renowned actor Jason Momoa, the speculations have now been confirmed.

Earlier tonight, the Hollywood Reporter noted that the Original Tribal Chief had been confirmed to be cast as Akuma in the film alongside rapper 50 Cent. The report read:

Joe Anoa’i, aka WME superstar Roman Reign, and martial artist-actor Andrew Koji [Warrior], are on the roll call as battler Akuma and lead character Ryu, respectively. Callina Liang [Presence] is playing Chun-Li.”

Kitao Sakura is set to direct the project, and production is scheduled to begin in August, which again hints at Reigns’ absence following his rumored SummerSlam return.

Another Roman Reigns’ movie, The Pickup has now received an official release date.

Roman Reigns Once Snapped Back At ‘Part-Timer’ Allegations

Not a regular name on the WWE roster, Reigns is widely known for following a much relaxed work schedule than most other superstars. His schedule has recently attracted several negative remarks, including the tag of “part-timer”. However, notwithstanding the allegations, fans saw Roman Reigns snap back at the remarks earlier this year.

Its funny because a lot of people call me a part-timer. A lot of people got a lot of things to say about my schedule. I ain’t no part-timer. I’m a full-time cash cow. Every second that I’m breathing, I’m working. That’s how this whole thing works. Proof of concept. This business lives off me. Don’t ever get it confused. Every second I’m breathing, I’m working.”
