WWE Star Reveals John Cena Was “Raving” About A Recent Match Of His

John Cena

A current WWE Superstar and former NXT Champion has revealed that John Cena was very impressed with one of his recent matches.

Posting on Twitter, Sami Zayn wrote that Cena had watched his match with Finn Balor in Fort Myers, Florida and was raving about it. Zayn added that the praise made him feel good.

The former Intercontinental Champion then followed up as only he can, commenting that Cena was right to love the match as he and Balor “killed it.”

Zayn and Balor had initially crossed paths when the former Universal Champion arrived back on SmackDown on July 16th. Balor interrupted Zayn to a huge ovation before defeating the alleged victim of the longest conspiracy in WWE history.

While Zayn will want to keep killing it in his matches, he has revealed that one chant he doesn’t want to hear while he’s doing so. During an appearance on Oral Sessions with Renee Paquette, Zayn discussed his dislike for the “You deserve it” chant.

The former NXT Champion said that it’s not a matter of deserving anything as everyone works hard, it’s more down to people getting lucky. The former Intercontinental Champion added that when he wins the WWE Championship he’d rather hear “You got lucky” chants instead.

Zayn’s opponent from that now famous night in Fort Myers, Florida, Finn Balor has been on something of a rollercoaster since reappearing on the main roster. After the high of victory on his return and laying down a challenge to Roman Reigns, things have gone down hill in a hurry for the Irishman.

Balor had been set to sign a contract to face Reigns, but the signing as interrupted by Baron Corbin and then John Cena. With Balor out of the way, Cena signed the contract meant for him, giving him the match with Reigns.

On the most recent episode of SmackDown, Balor said that he wasn’t going to take the slight lying down. With that, the two-time NXT Champion called out the Tribal Chief. However, things didn’t go quite to plan as Balor was beaten down by The Bloodline and left laying as the show went off the air.
