This WWE star’s decision to stand up for himself earned him a standing ovation backstage.
Despite his rising popularity amongst the fans, Karrion Kross found himself missing out on the WrestleMania 41 match card. Soon after his exclusion, the former NXT Champion launched a backstage rant, taking shots at everyone. However, while the promo nearly exposed the promotion’s creative directions, it also heavily increased his popularity amongst the fans.
In his rant, Kross called out AJ Styles and Logan Paul who had a singles match at WrestleMania 41, while he was also involved in a feud against The Phenomenal One ahead of the PLE. Recently, during his interview with Ariel Helwani on The Ariel Helwani Show, Kross reflected on that infamous promo.
Dismissing fan theories about him complaining in front of the camera, Karrion Kross explained how he was instead standing up for himself.
“It’s not complaining. It’s using your voice and speaking up to say, ‘Hey, I’m here. I want to be here, and I wanna give you the best of what I have.’
In general [laughs], I got a standing ovation, I won’t drop names. But I got a standing ovation when I saw everyone the following day, which felt awesome. I had no idea that was going to resonate the way it did with people. A few people even came to me in tears, saying thank you for saying what you said.
I was just being honest. I had an open criteria that day, and I told them, I said ‘People are gonna watch this. I have something to say, and I have a feeling people are gonna wanna hear this.’”

He also revealed how that heated, no-holds-barred promo earned him a standing ovation from many involved backstage the following day. Despite being one of the highest merch-sellers in the promotion right now, Kross has yet to be regularly featured on television.
Karrion Kross Reveals The Person He Trusted Enough For His WWE Return
In the same interview with Ariel Helwani on The Ariel Helwani Show, Karrion Kross shared insights on how he made his WWE return. He named Triple H trustworthy enough to help him make his return.
“I think he called me just to say happy birthday and he said we should talk soon.
I knew exactly what it meant and I was scared out of my mind… I knew I could trust him. I felt like he knew he could trust me. That’s not something that I ever want to mess with. That’s really imperative.
Just based on him having the sails of the ship, I was like, we’re going back.”
