Since Triple H took creative control of WWE he has set about reshaping the entire roster, and that has led to a number of former Superstars returning.
While the biggest of these names is undoubtedly Bray Wyatt, stars such as Dakota Kai, Emma, Braun Strowman, Karrion Kross and Scarlett have all come back after being released.
With regard to Karrion Kross the star was released alongside his wife Scarlett after a poorly received run on the main roster. Despite a character change, and repackaging, Kross failed to find success on Monday Night Raw and was let go in November 2021. Fans were highly critical of Kross’ main roster run as he didn’t appear with Scarlett and his success as a two-time NXT Champion was seemingly forgotten.
Karrion Kross And Scarlett Retained Relationship With Triple H
Speaking to The Sun, Kross explained that he and Scarlett regularly spoke with Triple H during their time away from the company. These conversations didn’t involve work, but did eventually pave the way for their return.
“So every once in a while we would check in on Hunter and see how he’s doing, just personal stuff – we never talked about work – and he would check in on us. One day he was wondering if we were around for a call. And then I think it was the week that you guys saw me on TV. I jumped on a call with Hunter and he proposed the concept of coming back. He said, ‘Would you guys like to come home?’ And we were like, ‘Of course we would’. And then you guys saw us two days later, we were on TV,”
Karrion Kross and Scarlett returned to WWE on the August 5th episode of Friday Night SmackDown. The former NXT star is currently wrapped up in a feud with Drew McIntyre. The pair are set to meet in a Steel Cage match at WWE Crown Jewel on November 5th.
