WWE Star Raquel Rodriguez Shares Emotional Video Of Her Battle With MCAS

Raquel Rodriguez has documented her battle with Mast Cell Activation Syndrome [MCAS].

The former WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion made her return on the February 19th episode of Raw, announced as a surprise entrant in a battle royal to determine the final entrant in the Women’s Elimination Chamber match. Rodriguez won the match and will compete at the upcoming Premium Live Event in Australia.

Back in January 2024, Raquel Rodriguez posted a video to social media to explain her absence from TV. Rodriguez revealed that she was diagnosed with MCAS, the condition that releases mediators within the immune system to be released too quickly, causing the body to react to triggers that would normally not affect them. Symptoms can include those similar to anaphylaxis such as swelling, hives and a drop in blood pressure.

Taking to social media to provide fans with an update, Rodriguez stated that although she has been able to get answers as to why she is being affected by MCAS it is still not entirely under control. The Raw star thanked everyone for their support:

The journey is far from over. I finally got some answers as to what caused this but it’s going to be a while til I can get it fully under control. I know one thing. I’m blessed to have an amazing support system. Family, friends, I love you all Keep pushing through the pain!

Along with the status update, Rodriguez uploaded a video to detail her symptoms and her battle with the disease:

The winner of the match will go on to challenge the Women’s World Champion at WrestleMania 40. The Women’s World Championship will also be on the line at the event as Rhea Ripley defends the title against Nia Jax.

Following the event, Raquel Rodriguez revealed that she worked through a flare-up of MCAS in the Elimination Chamber.
