“The Plane Ride From Hell” will resonate with wrestling fans for years to come, but one WWE Star remembers several aspects of that harrowing flight distinctively.
Stevie Richards had his fair share of experience during a very solid WWE run back in the late 1990s and 2000s, and one of the founding members of the BWO brought up the much-discussed “Plane Ride From Hell” in WWE on a recent episode of Wrestling Shoot Interviews. Richards literally had a front row seat to one of the memorable incidents that went down during that 2002 trip back from London.
“I was right there at the exit row when Brock [Lesnar] and Curt [Hennig] were banging against the door.”
Richards also got word of Kurt Angle wrestling with Vince McMahon and he was absolutely in hearing range of an “under the influence” Goldust making his romantic pitch to his ex-wife Terri Runnels.
Why WWE Star Stevie Richards Was Relieved Not To Witness It All
Richards went on to say that if he did happen to witness the alleged Ric Flair incident involving a flight attendent on board, he would have had no other choice but to step in and do something.
“I wasn’t there or I did not witness any of the main part of the “Plane Ride From Hell.” I didn’t witness that because that would have crossed a rubicon that I couldn’t have witnessed that without stopping it, if you know what I mean. The acccused assault or harassment. Even with my stage or my status in the company. It just goes beyond keeping your mouth shut for wrestling. That goes beyond it, but I didn’t witness that, thank God.”
Dark Side Of The Ring had a complete episode covering “The Plane Ride From Hell” that happened to cause repercussions for Flair and even Tommy Dreamer, the latter of which who was interviewed for the episode.
