A top WWE star may be staying with the company despite initial hints that he was about to exit.
Karrion Kross became one of WWE’s fan-favorites this past few months due to his interesting and entertaining character and promo. However, instead of featuring The Harbinger of Doom more frequently, he remains absent on television. The former NXT Champion even lost his latest match against Sami Zayn to end their months-long feud.
Despite being a well-loved superstar, it was reported that Kross’ WWE contract will be ending soon, and he has yet to be approached by the Stamford-based promotion to re-sign. However, recent reports may have shared that Karrion will remain with the company.
Karrion Kross Said To Have Signed A New WWE Deal
In a recent report from Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer and Bryan Alvarez discussed Karrion’s situation. The former initially noted that he thinks it was an angle, to which the latter agreed, especially after the superstar’s memoir, Life Is Fighting, was promoted in the recent episode of NXT.
Dave added that Paul Heyman just praised Kross during his appearance on The Ariel Helwani Show by comparing the current superstar to “Stone Cold” Steve Austin. Due to all this, Meltzer believes Karrion will remain with WWE, and although initial reports of Kross likely not having a new deal were true, he did eventually get an offer.
So it’s like, he ain’t going anywhere. But, I was told that the story about him not being signed to a contract, I heard that is legit, but he did get an offer. You know, the story that he didn’t get an offer. Maybe when the story that he didn’t get an offer was written it was accurate, but I was told he’s gotten an offer and I don’t expect him going anywhere.”
Dave also theorized that WWE may be playing an angle with Kross similar to R-Truth due to its success, wherein fans expressed concern about the latter’s sudden exit this year before returning a week later to the company.
