There is a strong possibility that WWE Superstar Drew Gulak could be fired following the recent allegations that were made against him.
During a recent appearance on NewsNation, Ronda Rousey alleged that the NXT wrestler touched her inappropriately as he grabbed the drawstring of her sweatpants backstage. Gulak would later respond on social media, stating that the incident was an accident as he tried to shake Rousey’s hand and accidentally touched the drawstring.
The following week, Gulak was removed from TV and did not appear alongside the No Quarter Catch Crew, a faction he has been linked with for a number of weeks. Additionally, Drew Gulak was pulled from multiple events over WrestleMania weekend.
The following week on the April 16th broadcast of NXT, the No Quarter Catch Crew and the Tony D’Angelo Family met in the ring, where it was stated that the Catch Crew asked D’Angelo’s family to ‘take care of one of their own’, implying that Gulak had been written off TV. According to a new report, this may be permanent.
“If He Hasn’t Been [Fired From WWE] He Probably Will Be”: Dave Meltzer
Discussing the segment on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer stated that although it was one person’s word against another, Gulak was removed due to the backlash from Rousey’s comments. Meltzer added that those in the company have told them that although there has been no official word that he has been released, it is looking very likely that it will be the case:
“What I was told was that the witnesses were not conclusive, it was one person’s word against the other, but Gulak was bad publicity, so he got whacked. I don’t know that he’s been fired, but when I ask, it’s like, if he hasn’t been he probably will be. It’s not looking good for him, let’s put it that way.”
