WWE Star Hurt During Dark Match

WWE Star Hurt During Dark Match

A member of the WWE roster is said to be “banged up” following a match that took place for the live crowd.

As reported by Mike Johnson of PWInsider, former NXT North American Champion Wes Lee was in action at the Main Event taping and may have suffered a foot or ankle injury in the match. Lee was checked out by the medical team ASAP and no further updates have been provided on Lee’s status at this time. Lee’s opponent was Dion Lennox. It should be noted that while Lee appeared in a backstage segment on the December 17th episode of NXT, the former North American Champion was not in action on the December 24th episode of NXT, which has been taped ahead of time.

Since signed to NXT, Lee is a two-time NXT Tag Team Champion and one-time North American Champion. Lee previously had the record for the longest singular reign with the North American title until it was broken by Oba Femi earlier in the year.

Another WWE Star Not Injured Despite Previous Announcement

There were further injury concerns the following day when a venue announced that a meet and greet with LA Knight would not be taking place as the former United States Champion had suffered an injury. Thankfully, LA Knight was not injured and a follow-up report detailed the real reason as to why the WWE star would not be at the event.

In other news, injured WWE star Carmella recently provided an update on her road to recovery.
