A WWE star has addressed the nasty plastic surgery comments targeted toward her.
A part of the Stamford-based promotion for over 13 years, Charlotte Flair has transformed herself into one of the most talented and popular wrestlers on the roster. A 14-time World Champion, Flair’s WWE career has experienced several changes, including her wrestling style and physical appearance.
Since her debut in 2012, Flair has undergone a major appearance change. However, while some fans are only concerned about The Queen’s in-ring skills, several fans have regularly targeted her with nasty plastic surgery comments over her appearance. Recently, writing in The Player’s Tribune, Charlotte Flair shared her honest thoughts on it.
“It’s extremely hard to live healthy on the road — so while I was off, I did something I’d wanted to do for a long time: I got in the best shape of my life. I lost like 25 pounds. I got leaner, and more toned. I felt so great. I’ve always been pretty self-conscious about my appearance, but I seriously was SO proud of the effort I’d put in, and the results I’d achieved. And I remember feeling really good about how I’d looked at that night’s show.
Then I checked my phone after.
I literally had thousands of notifications on Twitter — most of it, people speculating about what kind of plastic surgery I’d gotten.
OK. What the f*** happened to Charlotte Flair?!
Holy s*** her whole body is fake.
You KNOW she got work done……
She looks like her DAD in a WIG.I’ve dealt with stuff like that my whole career … but I try not to take it personally. On some level, I get it: I’m (relatively) famous, and I make a very good living from work that involves showing off my body. I get that certain things just come with that territory. And I’d never expect anyone to put “feeling sorry for Charlotte Flair” high on their priority list. But it really is wild, how like…….
OK, I’ll put it like this: People are getting smarter and smarter when it comes to understanding the wrestling business. Everyone “knows everything” now, not just about what’s on-screen but what’s off-screen as well. And yet, the smarter that people get about wrestling?? The easier they seem to forget the basic concepts.
Like the concept that I’m not Charlotte Flair.
Charlotte Flair … She’s the QUEEN!!! She’s the villain. She’s supremely confident, and she never gets rattled. She thrives on you booing her — thrives on you hating her. She’s blonde, 5’10”, athletic as hell. Wins constantly. A FOURTEEN-TIME world champ. I mean, she showed up to a WrestleMania one year in a robe with freaking peacock feathers on it. Literally who does that??”
In less than a week, Charlotte Flair is set to tag with Alexa Bliss and compete for the Women’s Tag-Team Championships at Evolution 2.
Charlotte Flair Gets Honest About John Cena Breaking Her Father’s Record At WWE WrestleMania 41
At WrestleMania 41, John Cena defeated Cody Rhodes to win his 17th World title, and essentially break Ric Flair’s record of 16 World title wins. Recently speaking with The Takedown on Sports Illustrated, Charlotte Flair shared her thoughts on the situation.
“Records are meant to be broken. I don’t wanna speak for my dad, but I think in this case I can, John was the guy to do it. And I think he couldn’t be more proud of John. Even me seeing John Cena and what he means to the industry and what he means to me as a performer, I don’t think it was sad. The record stood the test of time for a very long time and it was finally broken,.”
