One WWE Superstar has spoken about wanting to mix it up with talent in AEW now that the Forbidden Door has officially opened.

AEW x NJPW: Forbidden Door saw the best of AEW battling against the best of NJPW. AEW President Tony Khan has since stated that the event was a massive success considering how many wrestlers were injured beforehand.

In an interview with Sebastian Hackl for WWE’s Deutschland’s Instagram, New Day member Kofi Kingston expressed how open he would be to go against some of the world’s best from outside of WWE.

“Yeah, I mean there’s a lot, I think more so now,” said Kofi Kingston. “Well, you know, since Mickie James came to the Rumble right, through the quote-on-quote ‘Forbidden Door, that was never to be talked about, was opened. So, there’s a lot of different people from a lot of different promotions that are incredibly talented that I would love to mix it up with and have matches with for sure.”

Interestingly, some AEW stars, such as Adam Cole, have continued to appear on Xavier Woods’ video game YouTube channel, UpUpDownDown.

In addition, Tony Khan recently stated he’s open to discussing a potential AEW x WWE super-show. Khan explained that while a deal is unlikely, he would at least be open to a conversation regarding a joint venture.

The comments came after numerous AEW stars appeared in pre-taped video segments on a recent episode of Monday Night Raw celebrating the 20th anniversary of John Cena’s debut. Khan later revealed that WWE had personally reached out to him over the creating the clips, describing himself as a “good Samaritan” when asked for a “reasonable favour.”

As well as featuring AEW talents on Raw, WWE also featured Mickie James as part of the 2022 Women’s Royal Rumble match, despite her being IMPACT Knockouts Champion at the time.
