Current WWE Star Hits Out At Criticisms That They Sound Too Much Like Dwayne Johnson

Dwayne Johnson

WWE SmackDown star LA Knight went viral in October 2022 following an interview where he mentioned he sounds a lot like Dwayne Johnson.

The clip came from a conversation Knight had with Chris Van Vliet, and since it went live more and more people have noticed the similarity between him and The Rock with some even claiming he sounds too much like The Great One. However, Knight says it’s just his natural speaking voice.

LA Knight addresses similarities to Dwayne Johnson

Sitting down with Van Vliet for a new interview, Knight spoke about the comparisons with Dwayne Johnson again. After saying he is compared to a lot of different stars on Twitter, Knight said he just happens to have a similar timbre to The Rock when he speaks normally.

He also reflected on his appearance in the Johnson-hosted TNT reality show The Hero, where people weren’t sure which of them was talking until they appeared on the screen.

“Well, you know what’s so funny is as I go online, you know, and Twitter might be the worst thing in the world. The amount of people I’ve been compared to and said that I am is astounding. And every day I’ll see a new one. And I’ll just be like wait, who? That too.

“So yeah, it’s not surprising. But yeah, I mean, just the voice timbre again, I mean, watching the hero back in 2013. I can’t believe it’s been 10 years since that, but sometimes you would just hear my voice or you’d hear his voice. And it would be tough to tell who was who you’re just like, and until the person’s face came on screen you’re like oh, yeah.

“But I don’t know. I don’t think otherwise there’s a whole like [similarity]. It’s just my normal speaking voice. But like, I don’t think that once I actually get amped up or anything like that, I think I kind of lose it at that point.”

At the Royal Rumble, Knight is set to face Bray Wyatt in the first-ever Pitch Black Match. While exact details of the bout are currently unknown, Knight has previously described it as a Street Fight in the dark.
