WWE Star Credits Dwayne Johnson For Motivating Them To Succeed

Dwayne Johnson aka The Rock

Dwayne Johnson has been electrifying crowds for well over two decades since coming onto WWE television screens as The Rock. For one WWE star, it was Johnson’s motivation that helped him continue during difficult times in his life.

Speaking alongside his wife Bianca Belair on the latest episode of Sherri, former Raw Tag Team Champion Montez Ford opened up about his upcoming bout at the Elimination Chamber, where he’ll compete against five other men in an attempt to capture the United States Championship currently held by Austin Theory. He spoke candidly about being motivated throughout his life by Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, particularly when he lost his sister at a young age.

“I’m ready. I’ve been watching this as a child ever since I could remember. The very first person I laid eyes on, was The Godfather and I saw him walk out with his entourage and the one that really, really honed me in was Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson. He, he brought me through, I love that man. He brought me through a lot of things in life.

“I lost my sister when I was 10 years old and I was going through a lot of things at a very young age. Rock was the one who kind of honed me and, you know, pretty much motivated me.” (h/t eWrestlingNews)

Things didn’t go so well for his partner Angelo Dawkins, however, as he lost his qualifying bout against Damian Priest. The full list of WWE Superstars competing for the United States Championship is as follows:
