WWE Star Chelsea Green Explains Why Modern Fans Struggle To Embrace The

WWE star Chelsea Green has given her thoughts on the evolution of the babyface and why it can be hard for good guys to connect in the modern era.

Although in years past it was very clear who was the hero and who was the villain in professional wrestling, the lines are much more blurred today. With fans being more sympathetic to the heels’ motives and babyfaces being at times one dimensional, the desired reaction from the fans is not always obtained.

Speaking in an interview with The Law – What’s A Work, the Women’s United States Champion stated that fans may struggle to connect with the “perfect” babyface, leading to sympathy for the heel:

“They love an underdog story. Don’t we all? At the end of the day I’ve got to say like as a fan as well I don’t necessarily love to see this perfect human with a perfect body and perfect gear and a perfect speech go out and beat up a bad guy who actually isn’t perfect. There’s just like, there’s something kind of ‘blah’ about that.

So I think us seeing these turns from heels into baby faces – maybe that’s just the way we have to go you know. Maybe the bad guy are the perfectly groomed superhumans. Because that’s not what the fans look like. That’s not what the fans sit down and think ‘Oh I could be that guy’ That’s not realistic. Some of the people in WWE are superhuman.”

Chelsea Green Teases New Persona

After winning the Women’s United States Championship at Saturday Night’s Main Event back in December, Green is looking to make her first singles title reign in WWE a meaningful one. Looking to take on names from the past and present, Chelsea Green teased that she may become “The Diva Killer.”

Not one to blur the lines, one WWE star was recently named the most hated star of the year.

In a separate interview, the WWE star stated that she hated one part of her entrance.
