Chad Gable has opened up on his wrestling retirement plans.
Earlier last year, former tag-team champion Chad Gable signed a three-year deal with WWE, extending his run at the promotion. With over 10 years now in the promotion, Gable has shown no intentions of stopping. Regularly wrestling on Raw, the American Made leader, has revealed his retirement plans.
Speaking to Jay Ferruggia on The Jay Ferruggia Show, Gable discussed the idea of opening a wrestling school. He shared:
“I have entertained the idea of opening a wrestling school. I could see myself doing that, and I think I would enjoy it very much. On the flip side of that, if I was to totally switch careers, I got my degree in media design. I’m still pretty infatuated with motion graphics and video production. I don’t always do it, I don’t do it as consistently as I should while I film myself and put out these reels of training sessions. I don’t like to watch myself work out, that’s not why I do them, I do them to use my equipment and edit and get in the zone. That does it for me, no matter what.
Even if it’s not there when I sit down, within ten minutes of editing or shooting or anything, I’m gone. I can do it for hours and not know that the time has passed. I’m super obsessed with that stuff. Before I started with WWE, one of my big dreams was to work on title sequences for movies because it combines both worlds; filmmaking and motion graphics and animation, which are my favorites. I’m a geek for title sequences. There is so much work and intricacy that goes into that stuff that people don’t care about, ‘No, that’s art!’ I’m a geek for that stuff. I could see myself doing that.”
After his recent loss against Penta, Gable now wants to master the dark arts of Lucha Libre.
Hall Of Famer Kurt Angle Believes Chad Gable Is A Future World Champion
Recently speaking with Chris Van Vliet on Insight,Kurt Angle heaped praises on Chad Gable’s current run and gimmick. Addressing the prospects of Gable earning a World title victory, Angle said:
Chad made me look good. He did. Chad’s Chad’s incredible. He’s a very talented kid, and I’m just glad that they’re utilizing them properly because I know he’s undersized a little bit. They didn’t know what to do with them. But this kid could be a world champion and be very marketable. I mean, especially with the gimmick he has right now, with the whole USA thing, and ‘You Suck’ and everything where, he’s like, my son.
He should have been, yeah, exactly. But Vince McMahon had other ideas, having Jason Jordan be my son, which was ridiculous because, you know, that was cool.”
