WWE Star Blasts Kofi Kingston, Claims Injury Was “Karma”

Kofi Kingston

Not everyone appears to be wishing Kofi Kingston a full and speedy recovery.

The former WWE Champion suffered an ankle injury on the March 3rd edition of SmackDown after performing a dive. Kingston would require surgery for the injury, meaning that he will not be competing at WrestleMania. In an update following the operation, Kingston would say that he Facetimed Big E and Xavier Woods and he is on the road to recovery.

While many wrestlers and fans want to see Kingston back in the ring again soon, two former rivals have not been so positive regarding the news, Kit Wilson and Elton Prince of Pretty Deadly.

WWE NXT Stars Have No Sympathy For Kofi Kingston Injury

Speaking with Jim Varsallone of The Miami Herald, Wilson and Prince would discuss their time working with The New Day while in NXT. After initially praising the team for their accomplishments, Pretty Deadly would blast Kingston and Woods’ decision to briefly transition to NXT.

[Kit Wilson] However, the New Day came to NXT when they shouldn’t have and ruined our lives.

[Elton Prince] It’s been a real rough journey. You know what hurts most? They know what they’ve done. There’s no remorse, there’s no regret, there’s no guilt. They’re off living their merry lives now. ‘Oh, let’s go down, ruin Pretty Deadly’s lives and then carry on as normal.’

To add a literal insult to injury, Wilson believes that Kofi Kingston’s injury happened due to the actions of The New Day in NXT:

[Kit Wilson] I’ll say this. Maybe Kofi, recently [got hurt], I don’t want to say it, but it’s karma. [Elton Prince] Maybe.

The New Day would make a surprise visit to NXT in late 2022. Their trip to the third brand would not be for nothing, as Woods and Kingston would defeat Pretty Deadly at the NXT Deadline Premium Live Event to become the new NXT Tag Team Champions. The victory marked 12 tag team title reigns for the faction while in WWE.
