A current champion in WWE has looked back on their feud with Roman Reigns and The Bloodline and how they had to do some rebuilding to re-establish themselves when all was said and done.
During his 1,316-day reign as the Universal and later Undisputed Championship, Reigns defended the title a total of 32 times. While former challenger Jey Uso has since become a breakout star and top stars such as Brock Lesnar and John Cena did not lose anything from their defeats, others struggled to regain momentum, most notably Finn Balor following his loss at Extreme Rules as The Demon.
In 2023, LA Knight saw his momentum rise as The Megastar was one of the most over acts in the entire company. Although Knight failed to win Money in the Bank, the current United States Champion went on to challenge Reigns for the Undisputed Championship twice. Beginning with a one-on-one match at Crown Jewel, Knight was later part of a 4-way match at Royal Rumble that also featured AJ Styles and Randy Orton as challengers.
In an interview with SHAK Wrestling, Knight looked back on his rivalry with Reigns and The Bloodline. When it was brought up that The Bloodline are a successful group, it was also noted that not everyone saw their stock elevated when the feud was over. When asked if his feud with the group moved him forward or kept him in place, Knight admitted that while he went in a few directions, some rebuilding was required following the end of the rivalry:
“I think it did a little bit of all that. It took me in a few different directions. I think it optically in a way elevated me and I think optically in a way it kind of set me back a little bit and I had to do a little bit of a rebuild back in the winter and the springtime of last year. I think that’s just by virtue of the way that it was all set up and the way it was done, but ultimately Crown Jewel was a nice pay-off, so that was pretty good.”
Roman Reigns Recently Returned To WWE
After being attacked at the Royal Rumble by Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns made his return to TV on the March 10th Raw that aired live from Madison Square Garden in New York City. Attacking Rollins and CM Punk, Reigns stood tall to close out the show, likely setting up a 3-way match at WrestleMania 41.
