31-Year-Old WWE Star Moves Away From Wrestling; New Role Confirmed

WWE star has new role

A talented and fan-favorite star’s new WWE role has been confirmed.

Pete Dunne, 31, was long considered one of the best rising stars in WWE. The star made a name for himself in NXT UK before moving to NXT to break bones and dislocate fingers. The former NXT UK Champion is currently on the main roster but has been absent over the last few weeks. The star has been part of the tag team called New Catch Republic with his former nemesis, turned friend, Tyler Bate.

Amidst speculation about both stars’ WWE futures, Pete Dunne has been confirmed for a new role in the company that takes him away from wrestling.

Pete Dunne Is Now A Producer In WWE

Production is a highly lucrative role, not just in WWE, but in pro wrestling in general. A producer, also referred to as an agent, is responsible for setting up matches and ensuring that wrestlers stick to the script. Many wrestlers end up becoming producers later in their careers, such as Hurrican Helms, while others end up in the role after injuries shorten their in-ring careers, such as Tyson Kidd.

Pete Dunne is also stepping into the role, it seems, as he recently produced a match or two during WWE x AAA Worlds Collide. A recent image online shows the star ahead of the show, deep in conversation with NXT head booker Shawn Michaels.

Dunne recently made an appearance on RAW, acting as another version of the mysterious El Grande Americano. The 31-year-old last had a match on the main roster during the April 18, 2025, episode of SmackDown in the Andre the Giant Battle Royal. Since then, he has had two matches on Main Event.

There have also been reports and speculation that the star has been injured. However, the nature of the injury, if any, has yet to be disclosed.
