Roman Reigns has stood at the top of the WWE mountain for over two years, but that’s not to say that he’s done it all flying solo. The star has been backed up by The Bloodline who exist to dominate WWE and keep championship gold around the waist of Reigns.
Never was this clearer than at Clash At The Castle when Reigns put his Undisputed WWE Universal Championship on the line against Drew McIntyre. While Reigns was without The Usos and his Special Counsel Paul Heyman, a debuting Solo Sikoa came to his rescue ensuring he scored the win.
Drew McIntyre Making Plans To Take Down Roman Reigns
Following that defeat Reigns and McIntyre went their separate ways, but they have now found themselves in opposition once more. With Reigns leading The Bloodline into WarGames, he will have to contend with McIntyre who teams with Kevin Owens, Sheamus, Butch and Ridge Holland. Speaking in a new interview with CricketNext, McIntyre got an early verbal shot in on his rival.
“Roman [Reigns] someday I used to respect so much as a man, as a performer, as a workhorse. He’s incredible in the ring but he’s not the workhorse he once was,”
Continuing on McIntyre addressed the problems posed by not just Roman Reigns, but The Bloodline as a whole. Despite being firmly in opposition to the group, the Scot acknowledges them as potentially the greatest faction of all-time.
“It’s been a very long time since someone else has had those titles and quite frankly, now I realize, after Clash at the Castle, where he [Roman Reigns] introduced Solo Sikoa to make sure I didn’t beat Roman, I’m probably gonna have to look at forming an army of my own because right now they’re probably the most dominant faction of all time,”
Drew McIntyre hasn’t held the WWE Championship since being pinned by The Miz at Elimination Chamber in February 2021. The Scottish Warrior had already defeated Sheamus, AJ Styles, Jeff Hardy and Randy Orton inside the structure of the same name.
