As things stand, at WrestleMania 39 Cody Rhodes will challenge Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship. However, there is another star who thinks he should be in that spot.

The American Nightmare made his triumphant return at the 2023 Royal Rumble, entering at Number 30 and eliminating five men on his way to securing his spot at the Showcase Of The Immortals.

Meanwhile, Reigns has dominated the main event scene for almost 900 days, having held the Universal Championship since August 2020 and capturing the WWE Championship in April 2022 in the main event of WrestleMania 38.

A wildcard for the main event of this years edition of the Grandaddy Of Them All is Sami Zayn, who will get his own shot against Reigns at Elimination Chamber on February 18th.

Despite all of these moving parts, another Superstar thinks he should figure into the plans for the main event of WrestleMania, Reigns’ old friend turned enemy, Seth Rollins.

Seth Rollins feels slighted about not being in WrestleMania main event

In a recent interview with Sports Guys Talking Wrestling, Rollins was asked who he thinks he will face at WrestleMania. The Visionary noted he is in contention for the United States Championship at Elimination Chamber, and that winning that would get him plenty of challengers.

“We’ll see. Time will tell. We will see which options present themselves. We got to get to Chamber first. If I’m the United States Champion, I’m going to have a lot of people gunning for me.”

When it came to whether or not he thinks Rhodes can beat The Tribal Chief in the main event, Rollins admitted it was a hard question to answer, not least because he wanted to be in that spot himself.

“I don’t know the answer to that question man. It’s very hard for me to look at that match unbiased. I want that match. I want that spot. I want that title, and to not have it. There’s a lot of salt in the wound of having to talk about it. It’s difficult for me to analyze.

Despite this, he believes that whoever headlines the biggest event in the pro wrestling calendar, it will be a “generational main event”.

“I will say you’re looking at a rock and a hard place. You’ve got Roman Reigns, who is on an incredible run, but you’ve got Cody Rhodes, who is riding a lot of momentum.”

“When those two guys meet if that is the match, it could be Sami Zayn in that spot. We’ll see after Elimination Chamber. It’s going to be a generational main event of WrestleMania. Again, it’s hard for me to feel anything but slighted by it, so that is what it is.”

Rollins has been linked to a match against Logan Paul on the Grandest Stage Of Them All, with it recently being reported that the bout was “as close to being official as possible”.
