WWE accidentally leaks AJ Lee’s return before quickly deleting the post about it.
Since CM Punk returned to WWE in 2023, one discussion that followed is a potential AJ Lee return as well. As many may know, the latter was one of the top female stars in the 2010s and was a prominent figure in the women’s division.
However, it’s no secret that her time in the Stamford-based promotion has been affected after The Voice of the Voiceless’ exit. The wrestling couple got married in 2014, and not long after, Punk had his controversial departure from the company. The following year, Lee followed and hasn’t wrestled since then.
With Punk already mending bridges with WWE, many hoped AJ would follow, speculating she would return at the Royal Rumble and even interfere during her husband’s feud with Seth Rollins earlier this year. However, that didn’t come to fruition. Interestingly, circumstances may have changed now.
WWE May Have Confirmed AJ Lee’s Return After A Couple Of Hints From CM Punk
The Best in the World had a chance to reclaim the World Heavyweight Championship at Clash in Paris in a Four-way match against Seth Rollins, LA Knight, and Jey Uso. However, it was Rollins’ wife, Becky Lynch, who interfered this time around.
Punk and Lynch had another face-off on this week’s Monday show, where Becky delivered a scathing verbal insult and several slaps. Following this exchange, the former World Champion told her that The Man would regret her actions, and said it was “good” after learning from Adam Pearce that this week’s SmackDown will be in his hometown, Chicago, Illinois, which is also the same residence of AJ Lee.
The Monday Night RAW hints already convinced many that the former Divas Champion was finally returning, and the company may have even leaked it on social media. When X (Twitter) user, WrestlingDazeYT, asked WWEShop regarding an AJ Lee merch, the company’s account replied that they are already preparing gear for the returning superstar in time for Wrestlepalooza. However, this reply was later deleted.
